The People's Committee of Dong Thap province has just issued a plan to implement the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program in 2025.
Accordingly, in 2025, Dong Thap will continue to deploy and develop OCOP products to unleash the potential and advantages of rural areas; contribute to increasing people's income, restructuring the agricultural sector in conjunction with the development of small-scale industry, occupations, services and rural tourism.
According to the plan, this year, Dong Thap will continue to maintain and improve the quality of products certified with 3-5 OCOP stars; strive to have at least 60 new products participating in the 2025 classification assessment. Of which, 40 are 3-star products and 20 are 4-star products (each district and city has at least 2 new products participating in the 4-star OCOP assessment).
Dong Thap also supported at least 5 potential products to achieve 5-star OCOP to complete the dossier to request the Central Government to evaluate and recognize National OCOP products. Strive to have at least 50% of OCOP products recognized in 2022 participate in the assessment and reclassification in 2025.
OCOP products that have been recognized as still effective continue to improve quality; orient the development of key products with strengths participating in the OCOP Program; effectively implement trade promotion activities, encourage market expansion and product promotion.
To achieve the above goal, Dong Thap province sets a key task and solution to focus on developing OCOP products according to 06 OCOP product groups, prioritizing agricultural products, non-agricultural products, services, key products, and advantages in each locality in the direction of promoting internal resources and added value associated with community development.
According to this plan, the total estimated funding demand for the implementation of the OCOP Program in 2025 is more than 8 billion VND.
