On February 23, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thap - Vice Chairman of Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee issued an official dispatch requesting the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Tu Mo Rong district, Dak Glei, Kon Plong to promote the expansion of tea coffee growing areas.
Currently, agricultural product prices are increasing, fresh coffee prices range from 23,000 - 29,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of sweet coffee, due to its small quantity, is favored by the market, exported to Europe, the US, and Japan, so the value is double.
The delicious taste of sweet coffee and low caffeine content make sweet coffee the most valuable coffee in the production of coffee bean products.
In the Central Highlands, in addition to the limited area of tea coffee grown in Lam Dong province, Kon Tum highland districts have suitable soil and climate to develop this plant.

With an altitude of over 1,200m above sea level and a mild climate, the districts of Kon Plong, Tu Mo Rong, Dak Glei are developing thousands of hectares of tea coffee. Kon Tum aims to reach an area of 5,000 hectares of tea coffee cultivation by 2025.
There are tea trees intercropped between forest canopy, old forest areas are covered in moist fog all year round.
The People's Committee of Kon Tum province determined that in addition to making a tourism economy and developing the "land" of Ngoc Linh ginseng, expanding coffee and sweet soup cultivation is the right direction for socio-economic development for the people.
Kon Tum province directs functional agencies to connect coffee purchasing and processing enterprises inside and outside the province to purchase coffee and sweet potato products from people. Do not let the situation of not being able to sell products or being forced to pay prices cause damage to farmers.
Districts proactively support people with seed sources, materials, and farming documents so that people can easily understand, research, and apply production practices.
