On November 12, the Management Board of Industrial Parks (IPs) of Lam Dong province said that the province currently has 14/15 IPs approved for investment with a scale of more than 3,950 hectares. Of which, 11 IPs have been building infrastructure, attracting 230 projects, the occupancy rate of IPs is currently nearly 51%.
Of these, 163 projects have been put into operation, with revenue of about VND19,584 billion/year, export turnover of nearly 400 million USD, creating jobs for nearly 18,700 workers.
In addition to the projects under exploitation, the province is implementing investment procedures for 3 large-scale projects in Son My 1 Industrial Park, including: Son My I BOT Thermal Power Plant, Son My II Thermal Power Plant and LNG Gas Port warehouse. The total registered capital is about 5.4 billion USD, on an area of 156ha.
According to the planning of 3 provinces (Lam Dong - Binh Thuan - Dak Nong before the merger) for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, by 2030, Lam Dong will complete 16 industrial parks and put them into effective operation.
The province is also considering expanding and establishing 13 new industrial parks with a total scale of about 11,085 hectares, depending on development needs and the ability to supplement industrial land targets.

At the same time, the Management Board of Industrial Parks reviewed and proposed 9 new industrial parks in the communes of Tra Tan, Suoi Kiet, Tan Minh. These industrial parks will connect with Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City, taking advantage of their location and exploiting shared infrastructure.
It is expected that in the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, Lam Dong will have 38 industrial parks with a scale of nearly 19,819 hectares and an economic zone of more than 27,000 hectares.
To orient the development of industrial parks in the future, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and departments have conducted field surveys of industrial parks in Tra Tan commune, Gia Huynh industrial park in Suoi Kiet commune, Tan Duc Industrial Park expansion, Tan Phuc 1 and 2 Industrial Park, Tan Minh Industrial Park in Tan Minh commune, Ham Tan - Urban - Service Industrial Park - La Gi.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai - Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee - emphasized: "This planning is the basis for forming inter-zone and industrial cluster with investment in each other. This is an important driving force to promote local socio-economic development".
Mr. Hai requested units to review and advise the Provincial People's Committee to supplement and update plans related to new industrial parks, as a basis for updating the provincial planning and implementing investment in accordance with regulations.
The new industrial parks will be connected to the existing industrial park system to form an industrial chain in the South of Lam Dong province, creating investment attraction and promoting shared infrastructure advantages.
