On July 20, according to Lao Dong, the People's Committee of Lang Son province assigned the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone Management Board to preside over the planning adjustment plan, expanding the scope of Huu Nghi international border gate to include the cargo transit area, with a scale of about 850 hectares.
Previously, on July 11, 2025, the Department of Construction of Lang Son province issued a Report proposing to expand the scope of Huu Nghi international border gate to the cargo transit area of Dong Dang - Lang Son Export Processing Zone.
On that basis, the Provincial People's Committee agreed on the policy of adjusting and adding this content to the General Planning for the construction of Dong Dang - Lang Son Export Processing Zone until 2045.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Luong Trong Quynh assigned the Dong Dang - Lang Son Investment Park Management Board to coordinate with the consulting unit to urgently complete the adjustment dossier, integrate the above expansion plan and submit it to the Ministry of Construction for appraisal, before submitting it to the Prime Minister for approval according to regulations.
Along with that, the Provincial Military Command (Provincial Border Guard Command) is assigned the task of proactively advising the Provincial People's Committee to submit to competent authorities to adjust the scope of border gates according to the Decree, after the general planning is approved.
Expanding the scope of Huu Nghi international border gate is an important step to enhance customs clearance capacity, enhance the role of the logistics center of the border area, and at the same time create a breakthrough in attracting investment and developing the border gate economy of Lang Son province in the coming years.

Huu Nghi International Border Gate is the starting point of National Highway 1 and the North-South Expressway in the East in Dong Dang town, Cao Loc district, Lang Son province, Vietnam, 17 km north of Lang Son city, 171 km northeast of Hanoi.
Huu Nghi International Border Gate is built on an area of 124 hectares including the km 0 column of National Highway 1, the entrance and exit corridor, the entrance and exit management building, the national park, the commercial transaction area, and the central square.
