On May 27, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee organized a meeting to remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses and investors operating in the industrial and mining sectors in the province.
According to the report at the conference, the whole province currently has 45 projects for mining and processing group I minerals and industrial minerals licensed under the management authority of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Lao Cai also has 18 chemical and fertilizer factories and many construction material production facilities operating.

In 2025, the province's industrial sector continued to maintain positive growth momentum with production value estimated at about 75 trillion VND, an increase of nearly 20% compared to the previous year. This continues to be a large contributor to GRDP growth and local budget revenue.
Key industries such as mineral exploitation and processing; metallurgy; chemicals, fertilizers; construction materials production; agricultural and forestry product processing and hydropower maintain stable operations.
Total import and export turnover through border gates in 2025 reached over 3.19 billion USD, continuing to create momentum for industrial, commercial and logistics development.

Stepping into 2026, industrial production activities continue to recover positively. Accumulated industrial production value in the first months of the year reached about 9,846.6 billion VND; many businesses maintain stable production, expand investment and seek more product consumption markets.
At the conference, many businesses proposed removing difficulties related to mine expansion, access to raw materials, treatment of industrial solid waste, expansion of safety corridors, temporary postponement of payment of exploitation rights fees, application of replacement forest planting unit prices and exemption of environmental recovery deposits for businesses temporarily suspending operations.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh acknowledged the spirit of companionship and responsibility of the business community towards the socio-economic development of the locality.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh requested departments, branches, and localities to focus on removing difficulties in site clearance and land lease; ensure the supply of raw materials for production; continue to improve the investment and business environment, complete infrastructure for industrial zones and clusters, and accelerate the progress of projects.
For businesses, Lao Cai province proposed to proactively coordinate with the government in site clearance, implement projects on schedule; strengthen the application of technology, deep processing, ensure labor safety, environmental protection and efficient use of resources.
Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee emphasized the consistent viewpoint: "Businesses' difficulties are also the province's difficulties", and committed to continue to accompany and create favorable conditions for businesses to stabilize production and business.

Also at the conference, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of land use rights and Decisions on land lease to Viglacera Corporation - JSC, the investor of the project to build and operate infrastructure of Tran Yen Industrial Park phase I.
