Explosion of "food street" models
From 7pm on October 11, the cultural and culinary street on Phung Chi Kien street, Dong Khe ward, Ngo Quyen district officially came into operation. The cultural and culinary street is over 200m long, brightly decorated with a LED lighting system.
Not limited to weekends, Phung Chi Kien food street operates every evening of the week, from 7pm to 2am the next morning. Along the street, there are 30 stalls selling street food, handicrafts, regional specialties and other suitable industries to serve people and tourists who come to have fun, entertain, shop and enjoy.
On this street, there are also 3 art performance areas arranged from 8-9pm with a variety of genres from mass music and dance to street art performances. During the "Cultural and culinary street" activities, the locality prohibits vehicles from circulating. People and tourists walk to experience and enjoy the art and culinary programs.
Ngo Quyen District also applies digital services on the night street such as cashless payment, scanning QR-code to find information, trace the origin of goods...

Products to help the night economy break through
In addition to Phung Chi Kien food street, on the evening of October 11, Quang Trung walking street also resumed operations after a month of suspension to overcome the consequences of storm Yagi. Previously, from August 24, this walking street was put into operation, attracting a large number of people and tourists to visit, play and shop. To facilitate the resumption of Quang Trung walking street, the Department of Transport of Hai Phong City also issued a notice prohibiting vehicles from circulating and stopping on Quang Trung Street from the intersection with the crossroad between Tam Bac Lake and the City Exhibition House to the intersection with Tam Bac Street from 7-11pm on Fridays and from 6-11pm on Saturdays and Sundays every week. According to the representative of the Economic Department of Hong Bang District, the locality has just deployed Quang Trung walking street and learned from experience. On that basis, the Project on walking street in Phan Boi Chau ward will be completed and submitted to the City People's Committee for approval.
In Ngo Quyen district, developing the night economy with the model of building a "Cultural and culinary street" is being implemented by Ngo Quyen district to create a new attractive tourist destination; developing cultural and artistic spaces combined with commercial services, introducing local products and cuisine, attracting people and tourists. Thereby, meeting the needs of cultural activities, entertainment and recreation of the people, contributing to promoting the image of Ngo Quyen district to tourists inside and outside the city, creating momentum for socio-economic development of the district.
"District departments and offices coordinate with the Ga Market Management Board (the street management unit) to maintain the street's operation well, ensuring service quality to satisfy residents and tourists" - said a representative of the Ngo Quyen District People's Committee.
