Masan - The Best Place to Work in Asia 2024
The “Best Companies to Work for in Asia” award is an annual, reputable international award in the Asia region, evaluating the working environment of hundreds of large companies with good growth rates.
The award is organized by HR Asia magazine annually, with a list of participating countries including 16 countries and major markets in Asia such as Singapore, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, etc.
In Vietnam, the survey was conducted at 704 companies with the participation of 53,250 personnel from all levels, including executive directors and human resources directors. These are all companies that have continuously contributed to employee satisfaction, welfare, and development.
According to HR Asia's evaluation, Masan Group has successfully connected employees, teams, and leaders at the workplace, with outstanding human resources policies, attractive and regular benefits, and frequent internal activities to increase employee engagement.
“We believe that human resources are the biggest competitive advantage, helping us create differences and drive us to realize our long-term value creation strategy. We strive to create an environment that allows employees to develop sustainably,” a representative of Masan Group shared.
This is the second consecutive year that Masan has been honored by HR Asia as “The Best Place to Work in Asia”. In addition, it has won two special categories: “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Awards” and “Sustainable Workplace Awards”.
At present, Masan Group is the “big house” of nearly 40,000 employees who trust the philosophy of “Doing well by doing good”. A solid foundation for employee development
Over the past 28 years of establishment and development, Masan and its member units have shared a common goal and pursued the ideal of becoming a source of pride for Vietnam with the trust of consumers.
To achieve this goal, the group recognizes the importance of developing a team of talented individuals, continuously investing in human resources strategies to increase employee experience and develop personnel capabilities.
Last year, Masan established the Growth Center – Talent Development Center with the aim of making Masan a place to unleash the potential of each member and a destination for talents ready for the future.
This center has organized over 1,700 training and workshop sessions on various topics, including leadership and guidance skills, presentation skills, problem-solving, and decision-making. These classes have attracted over 33,214 employee training sessions.
Simultaneously, the Growth Center has implemented programs such as Mentoring, Leadership Assessment, 360-degree Feedback for talents and senior managers to improve leadership skills and team management capabilities.
In 2023, nearly 98% of Masan Group's personnel and 99% of employees participated in evaluating the effectiveness of implementation and career development. This systematic approach helps the company identify leaders within the organization.
A representative of Masan Group said: “At all levels, we support annual performance evaluation activities based on cooperation and transparency to make decisions related to salaries and rewards. We prioritize maintaining a fair, equal, and performance-based reward system, based on employee contributions to the company's business operations.”
In line with the commitment to recognizing and encouraging the development of capabilities, Masan has applied the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) to drive entrepreneurial spirit by giving them ownership of the company, thereby increasing shareholder value.
This leading retail consumer goods company in Vietnam is also proud of its diverse workforce, including personnel from various nationalities: the United States, Australia, India, etc.
With many differences but a shared aspiration – to serve consumers and create value for the economy, environment, and society, Masan commits to creating a diverse environment to instill a culture of inclusiveness and provide equal opportunities for all employees.
This diversity brings different perspectives, backgrounds, expertise, and experiences, helping to create innovative and breakthrough strategies, ideas, and solutions in business operations and the journey of serving consumers to realize the vision: “Every Vietnamese family has Masan products, every global family has at least one Masan product”.
