Observations were made at traditional markets in Can Tho City, such as Tan An, Xuan Khanh, Ba Bo, etc. The supply of goods is abundant, and prices are stable. However, the prices of vegetarian food, leafy greens, and fruits have increased slightly compared to usual days.
According to that, the prices of various fruits have increased by 5,000-10,000 VND/kg; the prices of fresh flowers have increased by approximately 5,000 VND/bundle, depending on the type; other types of vegetarian food, such as mushrooms and tofu, have increased by a few thousand VND.
As one of the devotees of vegetarian cuisine and concerned about the crowded situation on the 15th day of the lunar month, Mrs. Pham Thi Tu (housewife, Phong Dien District, Can Tho City) went to the market to buy goods in advance.
Mrs. Tu said: "I went to the market early to buy dry goods such as mushrooms, dried noodles, and vegetarian meat to stock up in advance because it will be very crowded near the 15th day, and if I go late, it will be difficult to buy goods, and prices will increase."
Evaluating consumer purchasing power during the month of July this year, Mrs. Nguyen Thi My (small trader at Tan An Market, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) said that consumer purchasing power has increased by 15-20% compared to last year.
"This year, people buy food for the 15th day early, and dry goods, frozen goods are sold a lot. I also take advantage of buying goods early to sell to customers from now until the 15th day," Mrs. My said.
At supermarkets and shopping centers in Can Tho City, such as Co.opmart, Lotte, Go, etc., have had a price reduction program, and consumers have also taken advantage of early shopping to hunt for deals.
"As I run a business, I am quite busy, and when I go to the market, I usually buy for the whole week. I take advantage of going to the supermarket early to hunt for deals to use gradually, and fruits to buy on the 15th day myself," Miss Nguyen Thi Tuyet Nhi (Thoi Lai District, Can Tho City) said.
