On March 24, at the beaches of Thach Lac, Thach Tri, Thach Van, Thach Hai communes (Ha Tinh city), hundreds of small fishing boats with a capacity of 24CV - 30CV were brought ashore to sell fish.
Most of the ships caught a lot of herring. The nets were thick with herring, and fishermen had to spend many hours shaking the nets to let the fish fall onto a large tarpaulin spread on the sandbank to sell to traders.
Fisherman Tran Van Lanh (60 years old, residing in Bac Lac village, Thach Lac commune) said that his boat had a capacity of 28CV, early in the morning of March 24, he went out to sea to fish about 10 nautical miles from shore and caught a stream of herring, earning an output of about 800kg.
At noon of the same day, when the boat was brought ashore, he mobilized relatives to lift nets to sell fish to traders.
At this time, there are many fishing streams appearing in the Ha Tinh sea area, most of the fishermen's boats are hit by the herring, some boats hit more than 2 tons, and are commonly hit by 600kg - 800kg per trip, Mr. Lanh shared.
Currently, the price of herring ranges from 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg, so for each trip at sea, fishermen earn nearly ten million VND, the most successful ships earn nearly 20 million VND.
According to many fishermen, it is estimated that on March 24, fishermen in Thach Lac, Thach Tri, Thach Van, and Thach Hai communes caught hundreds of tons of herring, bringing in a good income for their families, so everyone was excited.
