According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture of Da Huoai district (Lam Dong), local people have planted nearly 250 hectares of watermelon of various types.
This source of melons is to supply goods for the Lunar New Year market in 2025.

Watermelon growing area in Da Huoai district is mainly grown in Da Teh town, Cat Tien and communes: An Nhon, Quoc Oai, Da Kho, Quang Ngai.
These are the localities that regularly grow watermelons to sell during Tet. Da Teh town alone has the largest watermelon area in the district with about 100 hectares.

According to the leaders of the Agriculture sector, farmers planted watermelons in mid-November this year. At this time, most watermelon gardens have begun the flowering and pollination stages.
However, recently, there has been a lot of unseasonal rain. This has resulted in fewer melons and beans, causing difficulties for farmers.
A local resident shared that in recent days, there has been unseasonal rain in Da Huoai district. This has caused the melon stems to be crushed, the leaves to be burned; the fruit set rate is only about 60%.
Along with that, many types of pests arise, causing watermelons to bear fruit very poorly.

To ensure the supply of watermelons for Tet, watermelon growers can only focus on care.
Farmers also actively prune new shoots to stimulate watermelons to continue flowering.
People also gathered to pollinate again in the hope that the Tet watermelon crop will be bountiful and have a good price.
