On the afternoon of February 14, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hung - Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee - received and worked with the Delegation of Fukushima City (Japan), led by Mr. Kohata Hiroshi - Mayor of the city - to visit and work in the province.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung presented the delegation with an overview of Hai Duong's potential and strengths. In the period of 2021-2025, Hai Duong province's economy will achieve a high growth rate, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2024 is estimated to reach 212,386 billion VND, economic growth will increase by 10.2%.
Currently, there are 66 Japanese investment projects in the province, with a total registered investment of over 1,718.68 million USD, ranking 4th in the number of projects and 2nd in investment capital. In the field of human resources and labor, in 2024, the population of Hai Duong province is estimated at about 2 million people, the whole province has 9,289 operating enterprises, employing 386,622 workers.
The labor force aged 15 and over is 961,400 people. The rate of trained workers with certificates reached 32.7%. Currently, higher education and training institutions and colleges in the province have strengthened cooperation with foreign educational institutions.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung hoped that the city of Fukushima would study areas that can cooperate and support Hai Duong province, deepening the relationship between the two localities.
