On the morning of November 16, at Thu Dau Mot University (Binh Duong), a series of science, technology and innovation events TDMU 2024 took place.

Notably, the program has a discussion on "Developing smart agriculture in a green and sustainable direction for Binh Duong province and the Southeast region".

Attending the seminar were Mr. Pham Van Bong - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Duong province, Dr. Doan Ngoc Xuan - Principal of Thu Dau Mot University, along with many scientists and lecturers in the field of biotechnology and high-tech agriculture from Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast provinces.

According to delegates, in order for the agricultural sector in Binh Duong and Vietnam to develop, it is necessary to concentrate land to develop large-scale, high-tech agriculture.

Delegates participated in the discussion and encouraged Binh Duong to develop smart agriculture in the direction of applying technology and robots in production, building green production farms.

According to Mr. Pham Van Bong - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Duong province, Thu Dau Mot University has paid attention to research, transfer and development of high-tech agriculture and has also achieved many important results. Thereby, actively supporting farms, businesses, production cooperatives and agricultural management agencies in the area.

According to Mr. Pham Van Bong, the goal of Binh Duong's agricultural sector is to create more value from using fewer inputs, fewer natural resources, less labor, and create higher value by taking advantage of scientific and technological achievements, aiming for sustainable development and from a technical perspective to production organization.

In recent years, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province has issued projects and plans with the goal of developing ecological agriculture and circular economy in agriculture, aiming at sustainable agricultural development.

The province also implemented a plan to strengthen chain linkages and OCOP products, associated with new rural construction.

According to Mr. Pham Van Bong, Binh Duong really needs the coordination and support from schools, research and transfer units to promote the development of 3-house and 4-house linkage models to quickly utilize scientific and technological resources into the production practices of Binh Duong agriculture.

School cooperates with Farmers' Association

On November 15, at the Binh Duong Provincial Exhibition Center, Thu Dau Mot University and the Binh Duong Provincial Farmers' Association signed a cooperation program for the period 2024-2030.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of departments and branches in the province.

At the program, Dr. Doan Ngoc Xuan - Rector of Thu Dau Mot University and Mr. Do Ngoc Huy - Chairman of Binh Duong Farmers' Association performed the signing ceremony of the cooperation program between the two units in the process of research and development, application of technologies, innovation in agricultural production, biotechnology products (period 2024-2030).

The cooperation program will have activities to help farmers increase the application of advanced technologies and digital technology in agricultural production, improve economic efficiency; serve the sustainable development of the agricultural sector of Binh Duong province.

Thu Dau Mot University said that its strengths are scientific research and technology transfer.

Thu Dau Mot University cooperates with the Provincial Farmers' Association to carry out research projects on cultivation techniques to increase productivity and quality of agricultural products, preserve and process agricultural products after harvest to reduce loss, improve quality and value and increase competitiveness for Binh Duong agricultural products in domestic and foreign markets...
