On February 5 (January 8), all pairs of border gates and specialized roads for transporting goods in Lang Son province will officially resume customs clearance after a temporary suspension due to China's Tet holiday.
According to Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, from February 1 to 4, the two areas of Huu Nghi Border Gate and Tan Thanh - Po Chai specialized import-export road still maintain customs clearance for pre-registered goods. On average, nearly 300 import-export vehicles are cleared each day, of which export goods alone account for 366 vehicles/day.
During the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, only Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Tan Thanh - Po Chai dedicated freight road (area of landmark 1088/2-1089) and Dong Dang International Railway Station Border Gate will maintain customs clearance activities.
It is expected that after February 12, the number of trucks passing through the border gate will increase sharply, especially agricultural products and fresh fruits.
"The authorities have developed specific scenarios and plans to create the most favorable conditions for businesses and traders during peak periods. It is expected that the number of vehicles cleared through customs can reach 1,300 - 1,500 vehicles/day," said Mr. Duy.
Previously, the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone Management Board said that customs clearance activities have been adjusted according to the Chinese holiday schedule. Huu Nghi Border Gate and the dedicated road in the area of landmark 1088/2-1089 (Tan Thanh) will temporarily suspend customs clearance from January 28 to 31. The customs clearance in the area of landmark 1104-1105 (Coc Nam) and the Na Hinh sub-border gate will temporarily suspend customs clearance from January 28 to February 4. Chi Ma bilateral border gate will also suspend customs clearance during this time.
The full restoration of border gate operations from February 5 is expected to contribute to ensuring the circulation of goods, especially agricultural products and key export items to China.
