HCMC - On June 5, the HCMC Market Management Department said that it had inspected and seized thousands of products of food of unknown origin.

On Tan Ky Tan Quy Street, Tan Quy Ward, Tan Phu District, Working Group No. 01 - Market Management Team No. 14 inspected a household selling retail food of all kinds and discovered that there were 511 units selling products of unknown origin such as salted duck eggs, blood stuck in blood, honey, cherry dried potatoes... The total listed value is 10,109,000 VND.

On Luy Ban Bich Street, Phu Thanh Ward, Tan Phu District, Working Group No. 03 - Market Management Team No. 14 inspected a household selling various types of food and discovered that there were 1,198 units selling products of unknown origin such as packaged fresh bamboo shoots, vegetarian ribs, Mashu mochi cake, dried chicken with lemon leaves, dried pork with burnt garlic... The total value of goods according to the listed price is VND 8,423,000.

The inspection team has drawn up a record with representatives of the above business households for the violation and trading in goods of unknown origin, which are food.

In Binh Tan District, through inspection of a food business household in Binh Tri Dong Ward, Market Management Team No. 16 discovered 4,326 units of prepackaged food products of various types, unknown origin. The packaging does not have information about the date of manufacture, expiration date and quality of the goods according to regulations. The total value of the goods according to the listed price is 17,391,000 VND.

Market Management Team No. 16 also conducted an inspection of a branch of a food trading company in An Lac Ward, Binh Tan District. Through inspection, Market Management Team No. 16 discovered that it was here storing 2,000 kg of dried red apples, without a brand name, without a product label, without showing their origin, without production date and expiration date. The total value of the goods according to the listed price is 38,000,000 VND.

The owner could not present invoices, documents, or papers to prove the origin and quality of the goods, and could not ensure food safety for circulation on the market.

Market Management Team No. 16 has temporarily detained all of the above-mentioned violating goods, proposed handling related administrative violations and forced the owners to destroy the goods that do not ensure food safety in accordance with regulations.
