The General Department of Customs has just launched a writing contest “Proud of 80 years of building and developing Vietnam Customs” on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the industry’s tradition (September 10, 1945 to September 10, 2025). The contest aims to record historical events, stories and outstanding individuals, highlighting the 80-year development journey of Vietnam Customs, affirming the important role of the industry in the cause of building and defending the country.
The aim of the contest is to express the feelings and emotional memories of previous generations, and at the same time share the feelings of the younger generation about the process of reforming and modernizing Customs, developing Digital Customs, and Smart Customs according to the Development Strategy to 2030.

- 80 years of glorious tradition of the Customs industry, with memories, commemorations and stories revolving around important historical events.
- Achievements and development milestones of units in the process of construction, innovation and international integration.
- Lessons, experiences and traditional values are maintained throughout the development process.
- Outstanding examples, individuals and groups with outstanding contributions and significant initiatives in work.
- Thoughts, initiatives and suggestions to build Vietnam Customs stronger and stronger, contributing to the cause of national defense.
Contest rules
- Contest entries must be in prose (reflections, memoirs, reports, etc.), and may include documents and photos that clearly illustrate the content and author. The articles must be in Vietnamese, no more than 2,500 words/article; a series of articles must have a maximum of 3 articles.
- Contestants commit to ensuring copyright, and the article has not participated in other contests or been published in the press.
- The organizers do not accept works that are fictional or contrary to Vietnamese culture and law.

- 3 A prizes: 12 million VND/prize
- 4 second prizes: 8 million VND/prize
- 6 third prizes: 4 million VND/prize
- 8 Consolation prizes: 2 million VND/prize
- 3 Collective prizes: 5 million VND/prize (for units with many entries and at least 1 entry winning C prize or higher).
The announcement and award ceremony will take place in August 2025.
