HCMC is a super city with great consumption power, especially consumers here are always at the forefront of online shopping trends. Therefore, when planning to expand the market or build a brand, businesses should focus on this market, Mr. Duc emphasized.
From the perspective of state management, Mr. Bui Ta Hoang Vu - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City said that in order for the city to truly become a large service center with regional and international competitiveness, the Department will continue to promote its role as a bridge, consulting and coordinating, while creating the most favorable environment for the service sector to develop strongly and sustainably, bringing high added value.
Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued a plan to implement a program to connect supply and demand between the city and provinces and cities, to promote the central role in leading the green - safe - responsible - transparent supply chain. According to the City People's Committee, the program is associated with the goal of bringing the total retail sales of goods in Ho Chi Minh City to grow by over 18% in the coming time.
Activities will be implemented synchronously, combined with many consumer stimulus programs such as "Cashless Day", "Shopping Season", OCOP Product Week or Consumer Promotion Fair. In addition, the program also responds to the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", thereby helping to reduce intermediary costs, expand access to quality products and reasonable prices for consumers.
An important highlight in this year's program is to promote the application of digital technology and e-commerce. Ho Chi Minh City will coordinate with domestic and foreign technology enterprises to develop modern online sales solutions, especially the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to Live Commerce and the M2C model (from factory to consumer).
Not only focusing on modern trade, the city also focuses on building and promoting brands for typical agricultural products. For the first time, Ho Chi Minh City will organize the "Yen Festival" to promote Can Gio bird's nest - a product with high economic value and imbued with culinary cultural identity. At the same time, many other specialties such as Phu Hoa Dong rice paper, OCOP products and safe agricultural products from localities will also be connected to expand domestic consumption markets and exports.
With the participation of the government, businesses and social organizations, Ho Chi Minh City not only affirms its role as the largest economic and trade center in the country but also aims to become an attractive destination with competitiveness in the regional and global supply chain.
