On November 14, Ho Chi Minh City held a press conference to announce the organization of the Autumn Economic Forum 2025.

Under the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the 2025 Autumn Economic Forum will officially take place with a series of key activities on November 25-27.

The forum was organized under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, assigning the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC C4IR) to preside over and coordinate with the World Economic Forum (WEF), city agencies and central ministries and branches.

Mr. Le Truong Duy - Director of HCMC C4IR said that since 2018, the city has organized the Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum with the expectation of creating a framework, a "playground" to connect and promote economic cooperation initiatives for the domestic and international communities, associated with national strategies.

After 5 times of organization, the forum has gone beyond the scope of a pure economic event, becoming a comprehensive international cooperation activity of Ho Chi Minh City, with close connection between the city and the Central Government.

On the Vietnamese side, it is expected that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, along with leaders of ministries, central branches and Ho Chi Minh City, and localities will directly participate in activities within the framework of the forum.

Internationally, the forum has so far received confirmation of the participation of 91 international delegations. In previous years, there were only about 20-25 groups, mainly from ministries, branches and localities internationally, while this year the number has increased nearly 4 times, with about 400 pilots flying to Vietnam directly attending. This shows the attraction of the forum after 5 years of efforts, along with the support of the city's political system and strong communication from press agencies.

According to Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the current requirement is not only to "apply new technology" or "reduc carbon emissions", but to reshape the development model from the root - shifting from expanding quantity to upgrading quality, shifting from resources - labor to knowledge - creativity, shifting from growth by consumption to growth by efficiency and sustainability.

The 2025 Autumn Economic Forum, held with the theme "Green transformation in the digital age", is a new development declaration of Ho Chi Minh City in that context. This is not only a topic for discussion but also a topic for action, for positioning, for implementation. This year's forum must become a place to "transform development thinking" into "realistic implementation capacity" - at the Government level, urban level, enterprise level and ecosystem level.

Ho Chi Minh City, with its new position after expanding development space, is demonstrating its ability to transform commensurate with the role of a national central super urban area. The city not only accepts the global trend but also has to proactively create new development standards for Vietnam, based on advanced knowledge economy, science - technology and the principle of sustainable development, in harmony with the Net Zero goal and the greening trend.
