HCMC discovers and temporarily detained more than 1 ton of candy of unknown origin

On November 14, the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department said that it had discovered and inspected a business location offering over 1 ton of unlabeled food.

Through the implementation of professional measures and local management, Market Management Team No. 13 discovered a business location in Dong Thanh Commune, Ho Chi Minh City, offering 1,080 kg of food, which is flexible candy, on social networks, so it coordinated with Dong Thanh Commune Police to conduct an inspection.

At the time of inspection, the facility was storing and trading 108,000 flexible candy pills without labels, unknown origins, no legal invoices and documents as prescribed; unused goods, with a total value according to the listed price of VND 43,200,000.

Market Management Team No. 13 has temporarily detained all of the above-mentioned infringing goods for further handling according to regulations.

In the coming time, Market Management Team No. 13 will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to regularly exchange information and monitor business activities; strengthen inspection and handling of cases of trading in smuggled goods, production - trading of counterfeit goods, infringement of intellectual property rights and goods of unknown origin, especially violations in the e-commerce environment.
