Specifically, customers using 80Mbps - 100Mbps bandwidth packages will be upgraded to 150Mbps; 120Mbps-180Mbps will be upgraded 1.5 times respectively. Customers using bandwidth >=200Mbps will be opened unlimitedly (up to 1Gbps); and committed to a minimum of 300Mbps-400Mbps depending on the package. Viettel will perform this upgrade automatically, customers do not have to restart their devices at home.
It is known that Viettel will upgrade bandwidth for all customers by the end of November - early December 2024. Users can easily look up the bandwidth of the package they are using by accessing the MyViettel application (https://viettel.vn/ttgc).
This is Viettel's 4th bandwidth upgrade in the past 5 years and brings many meanings to users: meeting the needs of using services requiring large bandwidth such as 4K/8K TV; experiencing AR - VR virtual reality content, IOT Smart home services... Besides, this action of Viettel is also in line with the Prime Minister's orientation on digital infrastructure in the period of 2025-2030 (by 2025, 90% of users will be able to access fixed Internet with an average speed of 200 Mbps, 90% of socio-economic organizations will be able to access the Internet with an average speed of 01 Gbps and towards 100% of users being able to access at speeds above 1 Gbps by 2030) and contributing to improving Vietnam's ranking on the regional Internet map.
According to statistics from Speedtest Intelligence, by the end of September 2024, the Internet download speed in Vietnam reached 153.3Mbps (ranked 32nd in the world; improved 11 places compared to the beginning of the year); of which, Viettel had the highest speed (153.7Mbps).
