“City Tet Fest - Thu Duc 2025” is jointly organized by the People's Committee of Thu Duc City and Vietnam Brand Purpose. It is a series of cultural, entertainment, artistic, culinary, shopping and unique games activities taking place with many highlights and events that reflect the true spirit of an international New Year festival season. Residents of the city and visitors will be able to enjoy a Southern-style Tet holiday including Tet Eating - Tet Playing - Tet Shopping; experiencing the full range of emotions with traditional Tet culture combined with contemporary and creative.
The number of people expected to attend the event “City Tet Fest - Thu Duc 2025” in 5 days is up to 600,000 visitors, with an average of 120,000 people per day. With a huge number of people gathering at the outdoor event with many entertainment activities, many people will need to access the internet to livestream, take photos to check-in the event, and make video calls to relatives to share memorable moments to welcome the new year.
Therefore, Viettel will increase 5G coverage at the event "City Tet Fest - Thu Duc 2025" to meet the needs of customers participating in the event, as well as the needs of more than 200 booths on a total area of nearly 20 hectares at Saigon Riverside Park where the event takes place. 5G transmission will also support the Organizing Committee in livestreaming, reporting, payment transactions as well as operations.
Previously, at two famous music events, Anh Trai Say Hi and Anh Trai Vuot Ngan Chong Gai concerts in Hanoi, Viettel deployed the most modern and high-configuration 5G stations with 64T/64R technology, meeting the network connection needs of tens of thousands of customers at the above events. Here, customers can easily connect to the network via Viettel 5G with a speed 10 times faster than 4G and almost no latency.
According to Nokia, in the era of social networks and livestream, having a fast, delayed connection is a mandatory requirement of events for people to share the experience together.
Viettel launched the first and largest 5G network in Vietnam with more than 6,500 transmission stations with outdoor coverage of over 90% of the capital areas of 63 provinces and cities, industrial parks, schools, airports, seaports... Viettel's 5G network quickly reached the milestone of 3 million users just 2 weeks after its launch and to date, 70% of subscribers in Viettel's 5G coverage area have used 5G (equivalent to 4 million customers), internet traffic on 5G has accounted for 30% in the deployment area, showing the attraction and potential of 5G in Vietnam is huge.
Viettel's 5G network speed can reach 700Mbps-1Gb, 10 times faster than 4G, and the latency is almost zero, deployed simultaneously on both 5G NSA (non stand alone) and 5G SA (stand alone) architecture platforms. Viettel's official provision of 5G services is considered a boost for other network operators to participate in the commercialization process more strongly, promoting the goal of national digital transformation, providing a platform for businesses and organizations to apply digital technology; while helping to improve the quality of life of users.
