According to Lao Dong reporter at 8:50 am on February 3 (6th day of Lunar New Year) on Cau Giay street (Hanoi), many people still went to stores to buy gold for luck in the new year.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Luc - a customer who came to buy gold at a store on Cau Giay Street (Hanoi) - said: "Before Tet, I could not buy gold bars because all the stores said they were out of stock.

Today I came here at 8:30 to wait to buy gold for luck. The staff informed me that the store will open at 9:00. Whether the store sells gold bars or gold rings, I will buy that type."

Similarly, Ms. Bui Thu Oanh (Hanoi) also waited early to buy gold rings to welcome the beginning of the year.

"My family has a tradition of buying gold at the beginning of the new year. Although the current gold price is quite high, I still prioritize buying it to pray for luck and fortune in the new year. I am waiting for the store to open to buy a few taels of gold rings, hoping that everything will go smoothly in the new year," Ms. Oanh shared.

Gold price update

As of 10:30 a.m., the price of SJC gold bars was listed by Saigon Jewelry Company at VND87.3 - 89.3 million/tael (buy - sell); an increase of VND500,000/tael for both buying and selling.

The difference between buying and selling price of SJC gold at Saigon Jewelry Company is at 2 million VND/tael.

Meanwhile, the price of SJC gold bars listed by DOJI Group is at 87.3-89.3 million VND/tael (buy - sell); an increase of 400,000 VND/tael for both buying and selling.

The difference between buying and selling price of SJC gold at DOJI Group is at 2 million VND/tael.

At the same time, the price of 9999 Hung Thinh Vuong round gold ring at DOJI was listed at 87.6-89 million VND/tael (buy - sell); an increase of 1 million VND/tael for buying and an increase of 900,000 VND/tael for selling compared to early this morning.

Bao Tin Minh Chau listed the price of gold rings at 87.1-89.25 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 500,000 VND/tael for buying and 350,000 VND/tael for selling compared to early this morning.

The world gold price listed on Kitco at 10:30 a.m. on February 3 (Vietnam time) is at 2,776.1 USD/ounce.
