Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, November 20, is a day to “respect teachers and honor the teachings” to honor the “silent ferrymen” of many generations. This is also an opportunity for students to show their gratitude to their teachers with the national ethics of “When drinking water, remember its source” and “When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree”. Teachers are also known as “engineers of the soul” – a noble and beautiful phrase.
On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day this year, To Hoang Secondary School was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee for its outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to carry out tasks from the 2022-2023 school year to the 2023-2024 school year.
To Hoang Secondary School is not a strange name. Established in 1975, after 49 years (as of 2024) of construction and development, the school has gradually grown in both quantity and quality. In recent years, with the direction and investment of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, Hai Ba Trung District People's Committee, Hai Ba Trung District Department of Education and Training, close coordination and enthusiastic support of the Parents' Association, with high determination, teachers and students of To Hoang Secondary School have overcome difficulties and successfully completed all assigned tasks. The scale of the school has been stable and maintained, and the quality of education of the school has been increasingly improved.
Currently, the school has an area of 3,688m2, including 2 blocks of 4 floors, solidly built with 22 cultural classrooms (14/22 rooms with projectors, 8 rooms with smart TVs) with full tables, chairs, boards, lighting according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training... The school has a green - clean - beautiful, safe, friendly pedagogical environment that meets the requirements of national standards level 1 and high quality criteria. The school has 2 outdoor playgrounds, a spacious playground with shade.
The school has an information technology infrastructure that is effectively exploited and used in management and teaching. The school is equipped with systems and means to ensure security and fire prevention and fighting safety. The school was recognized as meeting national standards in 2019 and recognized for the second time in 2023.
The school has always focused on the quality of teaching and learning activities in depth and achieved many achievements with Gold, Silver, Bronze Medals... at the TIMO International Math Competition, badminton, table tennis, chess, swimming competitions... The school's teaching staff is of high quality, after 3 years of study, the number of staff and teachers with master's degrees has increased. The percentage of university-level teachers is 90% or higher, postgraduate is 20% or higher. And many teachers have won high prizes at city-level competitions... The school's principal, Dr. Vu Thi Thu Ha, has been a City Emulation Fighter and a Base Emulation Fighter for many years.
