To encourage union members and workers who are unable to return home for Tet, the Labor Federation of Viet Yen town coordinated with the Town Youth Union and the Town Youth Union to organize the program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Thanks to the Party" associated with "Tet Not Far From Home".
Attending the event were Mr. Le Duc Tho - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation; Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of the Viet Yen Town Party Committee; representatives of the leaders of the departments and offices of the Provincial Labor Federation, the Viet Yen Town Party Committee and more than 300 union members and workers.
The program "Tet not far from home" aims to create an emotional bridge between workers and their relatives in their hometown, so that workers from far away places, due to circumstances and conditions, although unable to return home for Tet, can still feel the closeness and warmth of family love.
Coming to Bac Giang to work since the beginning of 2024, Ms. Tran Thi Hien (born in 1991), from Huong Khe district, Ha Tinh province, is currently a worker at Fukang Technology Co., Ltd. (belonging to Hong Hai Science and Technology Group), Quang Chau Industrial Park.
Ms. Hien's husband stays at home to take care of their young children. His monthly income of nearly 10 million VND is used to cover all living expenses for the whole family.
Ms. Hien shared: “The first year we didn’t go home for Tet, my husband and I missed home a lot, but it was hard for our young children to travel. This year, the company organized work during Tet, so if I stay and work, I will have a significant additional source of income to take care of my life. The new year is coming, I just hope that my job will be stable, my salary will be better so that not only during Tet but also whenever I miss my hometown and home, I can return.”
Although celebrating Tet far from home, Ms. Hien and many other workers always receive attention from the trade union, landlords and all levels and sectors, helping to ease homesickness and celebrate Tet far from home but still warm and full.
Mr. Le Duc Tho - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor said that with the motto "Ensuring all union members and workers have Tet", all levels of unions and local authorities prioritize maximum resources for Tet care activities.
In addition to reviewing difficult circumstances to give gifts and provide emergency support, the Provincial Federation of Labor directed the Viet Yen Town Federation of Labor to coordinate with the Town Youth Union to organize the program "Tet not far from home" with the desire to create a cozy atmosphere for employees to celebrate Tet with colleagues, ease homesickness, and work with peace of mind.
The program has many meaningful activities such as: Cultural exchange, launching of workers' boarding house clubs, making banh chung, especially preparing a year-end meal with the meaning of reunion so that each worker and laborer can enjoy the Tet atmosphere as if in their own family.
On this occasion, the organizing committee presented 300 gifts (worth VND 800,000/gift from the provincial Labor Federation's budget) to workers in boarding houses in difficult circumstances; living far away but unable to return home for Tet.
