The Cai Rang District Labor Federation has just organized a ceremony to present the decision to develop union members and establish the "Cargo handling union at Cai Rang floating market" at Vo Tanh street, Le Binh ward, Cai Rang district.
The cargo handling union at Cai Rang floating market has about 10 members, comrade Nguyen Hoai Tam was elected as the Union Chairman.
Each union member has a different situation, the union members gather and unite into groups to load and unload goods at the dock. The average wage for each union member is from 100,000 - 300,000 VND/day, depending on the quantity of goods.
The highlight is that the union members set up a group fund after dividing the wages each day. With the fund amounting to 2,000,000 VND, the union members use it to visit sick brothers and sisters and buy professional equipment.
According to the Cai Rang District Labor Federation, the union members’ wish is for the government and unions to pay attention to stabilizing the wharf, increasing the supply of goods, and providing training on occupational safety. In addition, local unions should support loans to improve living conditions and take care of families.
In the coming time, the Cai Rang District Labor Federation will regularly advise local Party committees and authorities to issue leadership documents and direct the implementation of union member development and establishment of grassroots unions in accordance with the actual situation of the locality.
