On February 27, the Can Tho City Labor Federation held a workshop to collect comments on the draft Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union and regulations on the organization and operation of grassroots trade unions (NDCS).

The workshop was attended by leaders of the Can Tho City Labor Federation and delegates including Standing Committee, heads, deputy heads of departments and full-time Trade Union officials of the Can Tho City Labor Federation; Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of District Labor Federations, Civil Servants' Trade Unions, Industry Trade Unions, Trade Unions of Export Processing and Industrial Zones; Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of grassroots Trade Unions under the City Labor Federation.
Through the workshop, delegates contributed and presented opinions towards completing the draft Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union XIII; draft Guidelines for implementing the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union; draft Regulations on the organization and operation of the grassroots trade union.

The workshop recorded over 30 opinions from 11 units on the content and guidance for implementing the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union; Subjects and conditions for joining the Trade Union; Management of union members, use of union member cards; structure and principles of organization and operation of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union; Management of Trade Union finances, collection of union fees and expenses of enterprises.
Delegates also paid special attention to the regulations of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on the organization and operation of grassroots trade unions such as the industries where grassroots trade unions are established; procedures for establishing grassroots trade unions; age of union members participating; rights and obligations of union members; conditions to ensure activities for grassroots trade unions; financial management, union fee payment levels, etc.

Speaking at the workshop, Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation Le Thi Suong Mai informed that in the past, the City Labor Federation has had many delegations of officials attending conferences and seminars organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to contribute to these drafts.
Along with recognizing and appreciating the recommendations from participating delegates, the Chairman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation proposed that the thematic departments of the City Labor Federation with different expertise, necessary to coordinate and supplement lower-level units. From there, promptly guide and provide information to units if they encounter difficulties and problems in the implementation process.
