Implementing the Working Program of the Executive Committee of the Can Tho City Labor Federation in 2024, celebrating the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union and the 14th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day, on October 18, the City Labor Federation organized a workshop on "Solutions to improve the quality of women's work in the new situation".
The workshop aimed to identify key solutions to improve the quality of women's work and the Trade Union Quality Assurance Committee at all levels in the coming time. Thereby, replicating good models and effective practices, contributing to the successful implementation of targets and tasks on women's work according to the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the 11th Congress of the Can Tho City Trade Union, term 2023 - 2028.
In his report to introduce the workshop, Vice President of Can Tho City Labor Federation Doan Van Dung informed that as of June 2024, the city's Labor Union has 1,201 grassroots unions with a total of 47,081/95,734 female union members. Currently, the city has 13 Women's Union Committees at the grassroots level, 580 Labor Union Committees at the administrative and public service and state-owned enterprises; and 111 Labor Union Committees at the non-state enterprises.
The Standing Committee of the City Labor Federation has directed trade unions at all levels to effectively carry out the work of mobilizing female workers, civil servants, laborers, gender work, gender equality, for the advancement of women, population work, family, children, etc.
The NCQC Board is responsible for directly advising the Standing Committee and the Executive Committee of the Trade Union at the same level on women's work activities; proactively and creatively advising, proposing, organizing, implementing and completing the targets and tasks assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Standing Committee of the City Labor Federation.
In the coming time, trade union activities in general and women's work in particular will face many difficulties and challenges. To effectively carry out women's work, Vice President of Can Tho City Labor Federation Doan Van Dung suggested that delegates attending the conference focus on research, speaking, discussing and exchanging to find effective measures to improve the quality of women's work, activities of the Trade Union's Quality Assurance Committee, contributing to promoting the movement of female workers, civil servants and laborers to develop strongly and deeply.
