Workers in the Central Highlands provinces have returned to work after the Lunar New Year holiday. The good news is that workers start the new year with enthusiasm, hoping to contribute to helping businesses develop production and business.

Wish of Central Highlands workers

The entire Central Highlands region has nearly 300,000 union members and workers. Of these, Gia Lai and Dak Lak have the largest number with about 140,000 people.

In Gia Lai, in the first days of the new year, industrial parks and clusters are bustling again as workers get back to work early. Many people go to work earlier than usual to receive lucky money from businesses as a spiritual encouragement.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan - a worker at OLAM Company - shared: "In early spring, the company creates a vibrant working atmosphere, encouraging workers to quickly get into the rhythm of production. Sharing that spirit, we also strive to complete our tasks, contributing to the development of the business."

In recent years, enterprises in Gia Lai such as Louis Dreyfus Company Vietnam Trading and Processing Company Limited, Nutifood Cao Nguyen Nutrition Food Joint Stock Company... have all achieved business efficiency, recruiting thousands of workers. Thereby, the companies have contributed to creating jobs and improving the lives of workers.

Mr. Tran Hung, a worker at Tra Da Industrial Park (Pleiku City, Gia Lai) said: “After Tet, workers hope that businesses will have more orders to stabilize production. Many people also take advantage of working extra shifts to increase their income. When businesses develop and their finances are stable, workers’ incomes will also be guaranteed.”

In Dak Lak, after the Tet holiday, workers returned to work at Hoa Phu Industrial Park and Tan An Industrial Cluster (Buon Ma Thuot City)...

Ms. Ksor H’Vo, a worker at KVD Vina Co., Ltd. (Tan An Industrial Park) excitedly shared: “On the morning of February 3, I and nearly 2,000 workers received lucky money from the company at the beginning of the year. The company owner also committed to giving additional bonuses to those who worked well and achieved high productivity. Therefore, everyone was eager to get to work right away.”

Proactively protect workers' rights

The Dak Lak Provincial Federation of Labor has been directing trade unions at all levels to guide and support grassroots trade unions in enterprises in negotiating, signing and supervising the implementation of collective labor agreements. This process aims to help ensure the legitimate rights and interests of workers in enterprises.

Mr. Le Van Thanh - Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the Trade Union will regularly monitor labor relations at enterprises in the area. When conflicts or incidents arise, the Trade Union will immediately intervene according to its functions and duties. From there, it will create a foundation for workers to work with peace of mind.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - Vice President of Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation - shared: "In the coming time, trade unions at all levels will actively participate in resolving conflicts and protecting the legitimate rights of workers when they are violated. The unit also strengthens inspection and supervision of the implementation of regimes and rights of workers at enterprises. In particular, special attention is paid to benefits related to wages, social insurance, health insurance and working conditions".
