Dialogue to grasp thoughts and aspirations
The Dak Lak Provincial Agriculture and Rural Development Trade Union manages more than 5,200 union members. Currently, there are still nearly 400 union members and workers who do not have a house and have to live in dormitories, rent rooms or stay with others.
Agricultural workers in Dak Lak often face many difficulties due to the nature of their work. Changing policies from businesses can affect their rights.
Mr. Le Anh Hung, representative of the Provincial Agriculture and Rural Development Trade Union, emphasized the role of trade unions in connecting, listening to opinions and solving difficulties of workers. Through dialogue, grassroots trade unions can grasp the thoughts and aspirations and propose appropriate solutions.
Mr. Tran Trung Phong, an employee of Forest Ranger Station No. 2, Nam Ka Special-Use Forest Management Board, said that dialogues between workers and management are very necessary.
Thanks to that, recommendations on benefits, insurance, overtime and wages are specifically answered by the union and unit leaders, contributing to improving working conditions.
According to the Dak Lak Provincial Federation of Labor, in 2024, the whole province had 270 grassroots trade unions at enterprises organizing periodic dialogues at the workplace, with 13,389 union members and workers participating in contributing opinions.
Some higher-level unions also coordinate with competent agencies to organize dialogues between workers and business leaders and specialized departments to promptly resolve arising issues.

Timely resolve problems for workers
Mr. Le Van Thanh, Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial Labor Federation, said that in 2025, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation set a target of 100% of state-owned enterprises and at least 75% of non-state enterprises organizing labor conferences and dialogues at the workplace.
Mr. Thanh emphasized that grassroots union officials need to proactively grasp information, listen to the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers. From there, coordinate with relevant agencies to promptly handle arising issues.
In particular, it is necessary to focus on implementing policies and regimes related to workers' rights and trade union activities.
"Trade unions at all levels must improve the quality of legal advice and legal support for union members and workers. Thereby, ensuring that they receive timely advice and support when needed," Mr. Thanh emphasized.
