Thousands of workers are needed

At Five Star Ha Tinh Garment Company in Dai Kim Industrial Park (Son Kim 1 Commune, Huong Son District), after more than a year of inactivity, the company has resumed operations for the past few months. Since its resumption, the company has posted a notice of recruitment of 1,000 workers. According to the personnel department, so far only 150 workers have been recruited.
In Vung Ang Economic Zone, Nam Ha Tinh Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company has posted a notice of recruitment for 320 unskilled workers for nearly a month now. However, the results only recruited 30 workers. Many other enterprises in Ha Tinh need to recruit thousands of workers but the recruitment results are low.
Reasons for difficulty in recruiting
According to Ms. Vo Thi Tam - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Haivina Hong Linh Company, since the beginning of this year, the salary accompanying the company's notice of recruiting workers has increased by 6.5 million VND or more, but recruitment is still very difficult.
"Now many garment enterprises in Ha Tinh need to recruit large numbers of workers but are having a hard time recruiting them. The reason is that the garment industry now cannot compete with other industries. In particular, workers have many opportunities to choose a job, such as going abroad to work. If she did not go, her husband would have gone abroad to work, so many wives would not go to work but only stay at the house to take care of their children, Ms. Tam shared.
Ms. Tam said that in the face of such low recruitment results, Haivina Hong Linh garment company is diversifying forms of recruitment needs notification, while also ensuring a worthy salary and bonus regime to attract workers to achieve higher recruitment results in the coming time to meet the company's need to expand production and business.
The representative of the human resources department of Five Star Ha Tinh Garment Company also informed that the reason for the difficulty in recruiting workers is that Son Kim 1 commune has a fairly small population. In addition, there are many garment enterprises around such as in Son Le commune (Huong Son), Duc Tho town and Vu Quang district that have garment factories, so they compete in recruiting workers.
A representative of the human resources department of Five Star Ha Tinh Garment Company said that they will strengthen solutions to recruit the highest possible number to meet the company's operational needs.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tho - Production Director and Chairman of the Trade Union of Nam Ha Tinh Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company - said that the company is currently having a hard time recruiting workers. The reason is that in the Vung Ang Economic Zone, there are also many enterprises with different occupations that need to recruit workers.
According to Mr. Tho, the salary offered by the company is 12 million VND/month (including overtime, seniority, lunch) which is also quite high. However, the recruitment results are still very low. Currently, the company is increasing public announcement of demand to achieve the desired recruitment results.
Ha Tinh Employment Service Center said that from the beginning of 2025, the demand for labor recruitment of enterprises in Ha Tinh will be very large, needing thousands of workers. However, recruitment is still very difficult. The reason is that workers returning to their company have been attached to the company for many years in the South with higher salaries. Many people also choose to go abroad to work for better income.
