Continuous establishment of grassroots unions
On November 8, the Kien An District Labor Federation (Hai Phong City) held a ceremony to announce and hand over the decision to establish a private medical and pharmaceutical union with 24 union members who are private medical and pharmaceutical staff in the district. This is the first union established by the Kien An District Labor Federation in 2024 after a period of review, mobilization, and propaganda.
Previously, at the end of October 2024, the Thuy Nguyen District Labor Federation established the first grassroots union in the district, which is an independent preschool grassroots union in the district with a total of 88 union members.
Mr. Bui Van Bien - Chairman of the Labor Federation of Thuy Nguyen district - said that the establishment of a grassroots union not only helps union members grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, and legal regulations on labor and trade unions, but also encourages new union members to actively participate in labor emulation movements, increasing productivity and work efficiency.
The pioneer in establishing grassroots unions is the Vinh Bao District Labor Federation with two unions established since August 2024: the Tan Lien commune container truck drivers union with 97 union members and the private preschool teachers union with 55 union members.
Tien Lang District Labor Federation is also preparing to launch 3 grassroots unions in November, including the union of households raising earthworms; the union of drivers, car rescue and the union of farmers raising clean chickens in Tien Lang District. The expected number of union members of the 3 unions is more than 150. At the same time, the District Labor Federation is promoting and mobilizing the establishment of unions in the real estate sector labor group in the area with about 100 union members.
Support unions to stay afloat
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Chairwoman of Tien Lang District Labor Federation, along with the establishment of unions, the District Labor Federation has planned to guide and support unions to operate effectively as well as organize activities to unite union members.
Regarding the agricultural union, the District Labor Federation plans to coordinate with the Farmers' Association to organize sessions to disseminate legal policies, integrate knowledge and new techniques in production to improve the quality of agricultural products and improve union members' income. The District Labor Federation also directly supports these unions in connecting product consumption...
"We hope that with the support of the higher-level union, the union will be able to stabilize its operations and attract more union members from the same industry to join the union," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Chairwoman of the Tien Lang District Labor Federation.
At the ceremony to announce the establishment of the first union of Kien An district, Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc - Permanent Vice President of the City Labor Federation - requested the District Labor Federation to guide and create conditions for the district's private medical and pharmaceutical unions to participate in many activities organized by the district's labor union as well as the City's labor union. In the immediate future, the District Labor Federation will guide the grassroots unions to develop operating regulations and soon organize the first Congress.
According to the report of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, by the end of October, the city's Trade Unions at all levels established 178 grassroots trade unions and unions, reaching 178% of the 2024 target, developing 47,894/30,000 new union members, of which the actual increase in union members was 28,082 union members.
In the last two months of 2024, trade unions at all levels will focus on completing the 2024 targets, focusing on the target of developing union members, focusing on establishing a number of labor unions in the same industry, and at the same time, continuing to propagate and mobilize laborers who have not yet joined the Union in units that already have a Union, striving to increase the proportion of laborers who are union members in agencies, units, enterprises, and labor groups in the same industry.
