On the afternoon of October 22, the Chau Thanh District Labor Federation (Kien Giang Province) coordinated with Quang Phu Seafood Import-Export Company Limited to admit union members and establish a grassroots trade union.
At the conference, the District Labor Federation issued a decision to recognize 40 workers as members of the Trade Union and decided to establish the Trade Union of Quang Phu Seafood Import-Export Company Limited.
The conference elected the Executive Committee, the Inspection Committee, and the positions of Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Trade Union. As a result, Ms. Truong Thi Kieu Tien was elected to the position of Chairman of the Trade Union.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairwoman of Chau Thanh District Labor Federation Nguyen Thi Anh Hong highly appreciated the spirit of active cooperation between the Company's Board of Directors and the District Labor Federation in establishing the Trade Union at the Company. She hopes that in the coming time, the Company's Board of Directors will continue to pay attention, support and create favorable conditions for the Trade Union to promote its effectiveness in operation.
Ms. Hong also suggested that in the coming time, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union should disseminate to union members the Party's guidelines, the State's laws and policies, resolutions of higher-level trade unions, the Trade Union Law, the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union, the role, functions and tasks of the Trade Union organization.
Participate in inspecting and supervising the implementation of policies related to the rights and legitimate interests of workers, such as: Salary, social insurance, health insurance, etc. Mobilize and guide company union members to participate in emulation movements, accompanying the development of the company.
