On May 14, Ms. Dinh Thi Thuy Duong - President of the Da Lat City Labor Federation - said that the Da Lat Technology Drivers' Union was established in May 2024. This is the first grassroots union in Lam Dong province.
When it was first launched, the union had only 50 members. However, during the operation, many technology drivers in the area have voluntarily joined.
In the peak of developing union members of the workers in 2025, the union mobilized to admit another 55 members. Earlier, on the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 2024), the Union also held a ceremony to admit new members.
"Up to now, the Da Lat Technology Drivers' Union has 135 union members. This is a place for the activities, connection and mutual support of freelance workers working as drivers in the city, said Ms. Duong.
Ms. Nguyen Tran Phuong Thao - Vice President of the Union - shared that she is also a technology car driver and feels honored to be elected as a union official by a trusted union member.
According to Ms. Thao, the attention and close support from the higher-level union is an important factor helping the union develop rapidly, becoming a common home for technology drivers.
"Union members are always proud to join the Union organization. They feel more secure in working when they see their rights being cared for and protected, said Ms. Thao.
On this occasion, the Da Lat City Labor Federation coordinated with the Traffic Police Department - Lam Dong Provincial Police to organize a propaganda program on the Road Traffic Law. Union members are instructed on how to identify high-tech crimes and effective preventive measures.
