In the early days of its establishment, Muong Khuong District Trade Union had only 5 full-time staff. After 45 years of construction and development, the district now has more than 3,200 union staff and members.
Of which, the district union directly manages more than 2,300 people, operating at 88 grassroots unions. The remaining union members operate at grassroots unions affiliated with industry unions.
Over the past years, the Muong Khuong district trade union has done a good job of taking care of the lives, representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers. Along with that, the trade union also organizes activities for the grassroots such as: Tet Sum Vay, Workers’ Month, Trade Union Shelter, etc.
District unions at all levels have connected with the My Dream Scholarship Fund to maintain 20 scholarships/month for children of disadvantaged workers. Not only that, the union has also connected many support programs for district officials and union members with a total value of more than 5 billion VND.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Hoang Van Quang - Standing Deputy Secretary of Muong Khuong District Party Committee acknowledged and commended the achievements of the workers, civil servants, laborers and the activities of the district trade union over the past 45 years.
To improve the effectiveness of the district trade union in the coming time, Mr. Hoang Van Quang emphasized: "The trade union needs to take better care of the staff, workers and laborers in units and localities throughout the district. Besides, it must play a good role in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers and laborers."
On this occasion, Muong Khuong union had 1 collective and 2 individuals receiving certificates of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement of good workers, 1 collective received a certificate of merit from the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation for their achievements in the movement of being good at public affairs and taking care of housework among female workers and civil servants.
Muong Khuong District Labor Federation also honored 15 grassroots union officials with outstanding achievements.
