The contest was held on January 12, at Vienergy Company Limited (in Phuc Son Industrial Park, Hoa Lu city) with the participation of 30 teams and nearly 80 contestants from trade unions under the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Ninh Binh province.
Participating in the contest, the teams will compete in 2 categories: Banh Chung wrapping contest, each team has 2 people, wrapping 5 cakes by hand (without using molds) within 20 minutes, the main ingredients are sticky rice, beans, meat and local products.
Next is the fruit tray display competition, the teams must prepare at least 5 types of fruit with decorative accessories, with the themes of the fruit tray being Tet reunion, family, origin, happiness and love... Each team of 3 people will decorate the fruit tray within 30 minutes and then present their team's performance.
Mr. Dinh The Hung - Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Zones of Ninh Binh province - said that the contest was organized to create a Tet atmosphere for union members and employees right at the workplace. This is also an opportunity for union members and employees to learn more about the special meaning of Chung cakes and the traditional value of the five-fruit tray during the traditional Tet holiday of the Vietnamese people.
The contest also creates a useful playground for union members and workers to demonstrate their talents, not only in terms of professional skills but also in terms of being skillful and talented in their family's annual work, and is also an opportunity to strengthen solidarity between union members, workers and union officials.
