On the afternoon of October 14, at the Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation, the Quang Tri Provincial National Assembly Delegation held a meeting with voters before the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.
At the conference, Ms. Ho Thi Minh - Deputy Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Quang Tri province - representative of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Tri province informed voters about the expected content of the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly; the results of the activities of the National Assembly Delegation of the province since the 7th session of the 15th National Assembly until now.
According to the plan, the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly, scheduled to take place in October 2024, will review, comment on and approve draft laws; at the same time, review and decide on socio-economic issues and a number of other important contents.
At the conference, there were suggestions and recommendations for the Draft Law on Trade Unions (amended) and the Draft Law on Employment.
For example, voters have asked the National Assembly to consider regulating a suitable payroll management mechanism in the Trade Union Law (amended), increasing the initiative of the Trade Union in arranging the Trade Union staff, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
Voters suggested that the National Assembly consider increasing the unemployment benefit from 60% to 75% (equal to the maximum pension level) to create conditions to support workers to have a minimum living when they lose their jobs or become unemployed; support businesses to proactively improve the skills of workers, especially for industries with high development trends such as information technology, automation, artificial intelligence, semiconductor technology, etc.
After listening to the opinions, proposals and recommendations of union officials and workers, Mr. Hoang Duc Thang - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Tri Province - received, discussed and explained a number of issues that voters were interested in. The contents of voters' proposals under the authority of the National Assembly, ministries and central branches will be studied and forwarded to the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Tri Province for consideration and resolution in the coming time.
