Early in the morning of the last day of the year, it suddenly rained, from tiny drops to small drops, making the journey from the boarding house to the vehicle assembly area somewhat more difficult, but it did not diminish the joy of the workers who had come to the city to work far from home and were now able to return home to celebrate Tet, especially returning on free buses organized by the Union.
Ms. Hoang Thi Tuyen - a worker at an electronic components manufacturing company in Thang Long Industrial Park - emotionally shared that this was the fourth time she had been able to take the free bus of the Trade Union to her hometown to celebrate Tet. This year, her three children, including a 7-month-old baby, returned to her hometown in Quynh Luu on the Spring bus of the Trade Union and received direct greetings and encouragement from Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones.
As a tradition, every year at the farewell ceremony for workers returning to their hometowns to celebrate Tet, leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, City leaders, City Labor Federation leaders and leaders of the Industrial and Export Processing Zones Trade Unions also give lucky money to workers' children, go up to the car to wish them a happy new year, and advise union members and workers to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet safely and return to work according to the company's schedule.
Those good wishes and caring gestures will follow the workers back to their hometown on their journey to welcome the New Year, becoming a source of encouragement for the whole family.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang - Chairman of the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones Trade Union said that after 26 trips to bring 1,200 workers in difficult circumstances home to celebrate Tet with their families, on February 2, the 5th day of the Lunar New Year, 7 trips will be organized to pick up union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances to return to work after the Tet holiday.
