Long Nguyen (Nguyen Van Long, born in 1988, in Yen Bai) is a famous photographer in Hanoi.
He began to show his passion and learn about photography in 2011.
In 2016, he won the “Honorary Photographer” award in the “Human Portrait” category at the International Photo Awards (IPA) in the US.
Long Nguyen shared that he worked with many famous artists such as the band Buc Tuong, actors Tuan Tu, Nguyen Huong Giang, Thai Vu, Kieu Anh, Miss Doan Thu Thuy, model Nguyen Hop...
Working with many famous people helped Long Nguyen gain a lot of experience and valuable lessons.
He shared: “At first, when I met famous artists, I felt quite nervous because I only saw them on TV and in the media. Before, I wondered what it would be like to meet them in real life?
However, in reality, the artists were all very friendly and professional. The feeling of nervousness almost disappeared, replaced by the enjoyment we had when working together.”
Long Nguyen revealed that he has been a fan of the band Buc Tuong for a long time. When he had the opportunity to collaborate, he felt extremely lucky and excited.
“They were friendly and sociable like friends, without any star attitude. However, their dedication to their music products made me always keep a serious attitude, not allowing any mistakes to happen,” he shared.
According to the photographer, seriousness, professionalism, and meticulousness in every step are the secrets to creating effective working sessions with famous artists as well as ordinary guests.
Or most recently, Long Nguyen took photos for TV actress Nguyen Huong Giang. Even though it was her first time working with her, the actress appeared very close and friendly with the entire crew.
“That day, Huong Giang wanted to take a photo shoot at the elevated train station with actor Quang Trong. The weather was extremely hot, the whole crew moved from Yen Nghia station to Thai Ha station, everyone was sweating profusely.
It is quite normal for people to sit still and watch the city on the train. However, taking photos, posing or filming in a beautiful way requires more movement at the train station, causing some of the crew to feel dizzy and seasick,” he said.
However, everyone maintained a professional attitude and focused on their work. The artists did not show any discomfort but cooperated fully, making the photo series complete successfully. From there, Long Nguyen's team had the opportunity to work with many other actors such as Tuan Tu, Thai Vu...
According to the photographer, to have an effective photo shoot requires a combination of many steps, including preparing costumes, makeup, hair, setting, lighting, camera angles, etc. However, the most important factor is the seriousness and good coordination of the whole crew.
“Passion, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn, without putting your ego too high, are the keys to winning the sympathy of your clients, regardless of whether they are famous or not. The rest depends on your skills, professionalism, and the products you deliver,” the photographer said.
