Information provided at the Q1/2026 press conference of Can Tho City People's Committee on the morning of April 14 shows that the situation of infectious diseases, especially dengue fever in the area, is developing quite complicatedly.

For hand, foot and mouth disease, Can Tho recorded 790 cases, an increase of 399 cases compared to the same period, with no deaths recorded.
Can Tho City also recorded 18 cases of suspected measles rash fever, a decrease of 2,615 cases compared to the same period.
Can Tho health sector said it will continue to closely monitor the developments of circulating infectious diseases such as dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, measles/rash fever suspected of measles. Strengthen the implementation of measures to ensure disease prevention and control; especially for respiratory diseases, dangerous infectious diseases; monitor, supervise, detect early, and promptly handle infectious disease outbreaks thoroughly, not allowing them to spread and break out to the community.
Previously, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, Specialist Doctor I Huynh Thanh Trieu (in charge of the General Clinic - specialist of the Can Tho City Center for Disease Control) - said that the Ministry of Health has licensed the circulation of dengue fever vaccine and through implementation, some people in Can Tho have come to the unit for vaccination.
