With 30% of sales in the past 5 years coming from new products and 75% of the portfolio being light materials, low carbon, Saint-Gobain Vietnam is committed to accompanying the Government to realize the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.
With the theme "Innovation, promoting the development of Green Building and Green Transportation in a sustainable way", the event gathered more than 1,000 delegates.
At the plenary session, Mr. Nguyen Truong Hai - General Director of Saint-Gobain Vietnam presented with the strategic message " Turning urbanization into a turning point in green building transformation with a lightweight, low-carbon material ecosystem". As a pioneer in the green construction material trend, Saint-Gobain Vietnam introduces an ecosystem of light, high-efficiency and low-carbon materials, helping investors and construction units optimize design, shorten progress and proactively control carbon emissions throughout the project life cycle.
To continue to maintain its leading position, Saint-Gobain identifies research and development (R&D) as a strategic pillar for long-term growth.
In 2025, Saint-Gobain launched DURAflex® Low carbon - the first green cement plate manufactured in Vietnam with a product life cycle assessment according to international standards, achieving EPD environmental product certification. DURAflex Cement plate factory in Quang Tri has successfully applied biomass fuel to produce DURAflex® Low carbon green cement plates, helping to reduce CO2 emissions by 74% per m2 of product.
At the forum, Saint-Gobain also proposed that the Government consider mandatory carbon labeling for construction materials, in order to help investors have a suitable basis for choice, and at the same time solve the problem of carbon content - a major bottleneck that can become a barrier in the journey towards Net Zero of the industry and the country.
