According to Soc Trang Provincial Police, at 1:45 a.m. on November 30, 2024, the patrol and security control team of Vinh Chau Town Police was patrolling on the Nam Song Hau National Highway, through Tra Von A Hamlet, Vinh Tan Commune (Vinh Chau Town, Soc Trang Province) when they discovered two young men driving a motorbike on the road with many suspicious signs, so they stopped the vehicle for inspection. When the police force conducted the inspection, the young man sitting behind immediately threw 4 nylon bags containing drugs on the ground.
The two subjects were identified as Nguyen Quoc Binh (born in 2005), residing in Hamlet 3, Ward 8, Bac Lieu City, and Nguyen Thanh Phuong (born in 2005), residing in Hamlet 9, Ward 1, Bac Lieu City (Bac Lieu Province). The subjects confessed that they were on their way to sell the drugs when they were discovered and arrested by the police.
The working group drew up a record of the crime, temporarily seized the above drugs and many related exhibits. The appraisal results showed that the above drugs included 4.7087g of MDMA and 4.7831g of Ketamine.
The Investigation Police Agency of Vinh Chau Town Police (Soc Trang Province) has decided to temporarily detain Nguyen Quoc Binh and Nguyen Thanh Phuong for further investigation.
