On January 4, Standing Deputy Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Huynh Quoc Viet, head of the delegation, visited and encouraged officials and workers at the construction site of the project to expand and upgrade Ca Mau Airport in Tan Thanh ward.
The project to expand and upgrade Ca Mau Airport belongs to the level I aviation transport project, invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation, with a total capital of more than 2,300 billion VND.
According to the report, by December 31, 2025, the project has completed the investment preparation phase, bomb and mine clearance work, construction drawing design and estimate.
Currently, the project is implementing organic soil excavation, mud dredging, soil excavation, sand filling, weak soil treatment and construction of fences and patrol roads. The accumulated value of construction volume reaches more than 10% of the contract value. In addition, the project has also completed demolition work and is preparing for pilot pile construction. Project construction work is being implemented, expected to be completed and put into use in September 2026.
At the visit, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Huynh Quoc Viet acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the investor, construction contractors, consulting units and workers who put aside personal matters and worked continuously during the New Year holiday; at the same time, requested the investor and contractors to pay close attention to life, ensure the best working conditions and preferential treatment for workers during the working days throughout Tet; local authorities coordinate with mass organizations to organize cultural and artistic exchange activities to further motivate workers on the construction site.
Standing Deputy Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee emphasized: This is a strategic project, of particular importance to the socio-economic development of the locality and the nation. The early commissioning of the project will create favorable trade connection conditions, improve people's lives, and promote tourism development in Dat Mui region, bringing economic benefits to Ca Mau province.
With consensus and high determination, Standing Deputy Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Huynh Quoc Viet expects the project to be constructed to ensure quality and shorten the time compared to the initial plan.
