In order to ensure drainage and prevent flooding in Da Nang City, especially in the upcoming rainy and stormy season, the Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee requested departments, branches, and People's Committees of districts to regularly monitor weather forecasts and developments regarding rain and storms to be proactive in all situations.
In addition, there must be plans and solutions for effective drainage and flood prevention in the management area according to assigned functions, tasks and authorities to avoid passive situations that cause damage to people and property.
At the same time, proactively handle difficulties and obstacles within authority to speed up the progress of drainage works and projects in the city, paying special attention to projects under construction and approved investment policies.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to continue to monitor, inspect and urge the implementation of the work of dredging and clearing the drainage system throughout the city, promptly advise the City People's Committee to rectify and strictly handle cases of slow implementation or implementation that does not meet requirements, leading to flooding.
The Department of Construction shall preside over and coordinate with the People's Committees of districts, and the Project Management Boards for investment and construction of specialized works to review the current status of drainage infrastructure in old urban areas and areas that are frequently flooded during heavy rains to advise on investment plans, upgrades, and renovations annually and in appropriate stages.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the People's Committees of districts to focus on accelerating the progress of dredging and clearing the drainage system within the scope of decentralized management associated with the roles and responsibilities of the heads, ensuring completion before September 20, 2024.
At the same time, urgently speed up the progress of site clearance to serve the construction of projects, traffic works, and drainage works in the city, especially need to immediately finish projects that have been delayed for many years, cannot connect to urban infrastructure, causing flooding and environmental pollution.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned investors and project management units to focus on speeding up the progress of drainage projects throughout the city, not allowing them to continue to drag on for many years, affecting the lives of people in the project area, as well as the surrounding area; urgently coordinate with contractors to deploy temporary drainage solutions at projects and works under construction.
