A Boost for the Vietnamese Game Industry

With the partnership between NCSOFT and VNGGames, the Vietnamese gaming industry and Southeast Asia will receive a significant boost in the near future.

Southeast Asian Game Market, in which Vietnam is witnessing a strong growth in recent years. According to Mordor Intelligence's report, the revenue from the gaming industry in Southeast Asia is expected to reach 14.80 billion USD by the end of 2024.

The number of online game players on mobile devices in the region has increased to approximately 250 million people in the previous year. This development is driven by the popularity of smartphones and the increase in mobile games.

With such great potential, NCSOFT - the leading game development and publishing group in South Korea, with many famous games such as Lineage, AION, Blade & Soul, Guild Wars… has partnered with its Vietnamese partner - VNGGames, establishing the NCV Games Alliance, to exclusively release NCSOFT's popular MMORPG titles on the entire Southeast Asian market.

The partnership between these two gaming giants will enable Vietnamese and Southeast Asian users to access NCSOFT's games smoothly and easily with quick, timely, and direct support from the publisher. Continuous and seamless customer care policies are being implemented, while regular community-building activities are being organized, tailored to each market.

“Blockbuster” Lineage 2M will be the first game released by NCV GAMES in 6 markets, including Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines, in the second half of 2024. Launched in a limited capacity in South Korea in 2019, this MMORPG game is a pioneer in applying collision detection technology, creating a revolution in gaming experience by recreating a highly realistic virtual world for players.

Lineage 2M is currently the largest open-world mobile game in the world, allowing over 10,000 players to gather and experience in a meticulously designed 3D environment.

NCSOFT's founder and CEO, Mr. Kim Taek-jin, emphasized: “With VNGGames' excellent operational capabilities and robust infrastructure in the Southeast Asian market, combined with NCSOFT's MMORPG product lineup, we aim to provide a groundbreaking experience for users in the region.”
