Can Tho - The activity of exchanging garbage for gifts at the 6th Children's Environmental Protection Festival in 2025 has collected more than 4 tons of recycled garbage.

On March 28, the Standing Committee of the Cai Khe Ward Veterans Association coordinated with the Ward Youth Union and Cai Khe 2 Primary School to organize the 6th Environmental Protection Children's Festival in 2025.

The activity aims to propagate and mobilize union members, association members, and students on environmental protection activities and climate change response. Thereby, contributing to protecting a green - clean - beautiful living environment, helping union members, association members, youth, students and people to be aware of protecting the living environment around agencies, schools, houses, and public places.

This is also an achievement celebration to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1990 - May 19, 2025); Welcoming the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1930 - March 26, 2025) and responding to the Youth Month in 2025. At the same time, promoting the spirit of "For beloved children" of the Youth Union at all levels for children in poor households, near-poor households and those in difficult circumstances.

At the Festival, the "Em Duong Quoc" Project presented support funds for the first quarter of 2025 to students of Cai Khe 2 Primary School who are sponsoring. Each student is supported with 900,000 VND. The organizing committee also presented 30 gifts, each worth VND500,000, to students in difficult circumstances. Thereby, promptly encouraging students to strive in their studies.

The festival also included activities to exchange trash for gifts. Accordingly, the Organizing Committee collected more than 4 tons of recyclable waste with over 3,000 gifts presented. The total value of activities in the 6th Children's Environmental Protection Festival in 2025 is estimated at nearly 70 million VND.
