The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is preparing to enter the journey to defend the throne at the AVC Nations Cup 2025. This is one of the top tasks of coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team in 2025.
Previously, the Vietnam women's team won the championship twice in a row in this arena in 2023 and 2024. Therefore, Thanh Thuy and her teammates cannot avoid the pressure ahead of the important tournament.
However, the athletes will receive the support of thousands of home fans when the AVC Nations Cup is held at the Dong Anh District Gymnasium, Hanoi from June 7 to June 14.
According to the draw results, Group A will have the participation of Vietnam, Australia, Taiwan (China), Hong Kong (China) and India. Meanwhile, Group B includes Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Iran, Indonesia, Mongolia and New Zealand. These are all strong teams in the region.
In terms of format, in each group, the teams compete in a round-robin to calculate points and select 4 teams to enter the quarter-finals.
The teams will be classified based on the number of victories. In case the two teams have the same number of victories, the sub-index is considered to be the number of points (if the match has a score of 3-0 or 3-1, the winning team is calculated 3 points;
Or when there are 2 or more teams equal in the first 2 ranking criteria, the winning/losing set score, the winning/losing point and the direct confrontation results are the basis for ranking.
