The 33rd SEA Games continues to fully organize both men's and women's basketball events in the 3x3 and 5x5 formats, with a total of 4 sets of medals.
Accordingly, the 3x3 event will start on December 10-11, while the 5x5 event will take place from December 13-19 in Bangkok, Thailand.
In the men's 5x5 basketball event, the tournament gathered 7 teams and was divided into two groups. The two teams with the best results in each group will enter the semi-finals to compete for medals.
According to the group results, the Vietnam team fell into Group A, where there were two strong opponents, the Philippines and Malaysia.
In the women's 3x3 event, the Vietnam team is highly expected when keeping the same squad that participated in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup, and having a full training process before the congress.
The strength of the 5x5 men's team includes many familiar faces such as Vo Kim Ban, Huynh Phu Vinh, Phuc Vinh, Dau Trung Kien, Dang Khoa, Minh An and Thai Hung.
Meanwhile, the men's 3x3 team has arrived in Thailand and quickly got used to the weather conditions despite some initial obstacles. However, the big challenge still lies in the expertise when Vietnam has to face the Philippines and Laos consecutively.
