Vietnam will play away to Thailand in the second leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final.

Vietnam has a big advantage over Thailand after a 2-1 victory in the first leg of the final at Viet Tri Stadium, Phu Tho on January 2. Nguyen Xuan Son continued his impressive performance with a double against the opponent.

After the match, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team quickly traveled to Thailand and had two more training sessions before entering the second leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final.

If they draw or win the rematch, Vietnam will be crowned Southeast Asian champions for the third time in history. If they lose by 1 goal (0-1, 1-2, 2-3...), the total score will be equal and the two teams will have to play extra time to determine the winner.

In case of losing to Thailand by 2 goals or more (0-2, 2-4, 1-3...), the Vietnamese team will finish second, meaning the team from the Golden Temple country will successfully defend the throne in the region.

Regarding the force, apart from Van Toan and Tan Tai who were injured from previous matches, the Vietnamese team still ensures the number of players including pillars such as Xuan Son, Quang Hai, Hoang Duc, Tien Linh, Ngoc Tan, Tien Dung, Thanh Chung, Duy Manh, Xuan Manh...

Even though they have to play away, there will still be many Vietnamese fans who will go to Thailand to accompany and cheer for the "Golden Star Warriors".

The match between Vietnam and Thailand in the second leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final will take place at 8:00 p.m. on January 5 at Rajamangala Stadium.
