Thuy Linh's schedule at the Indonesia Masters 2025

HOÀNG HUÊ |

Vietnam's No. 1 female tennis player Nguyen Thuy Linh will compete in the Indonesia Masters 2025 international badminton tournament, starting on January 21.

The Indonesia Masters is part of the BWF Tour 500 system of the Badminton Federation (BWF). Thuy Linh is currently ranked 32nd in the world. According to experts, the Vietnamese player's chances in this tournament are quite good.

However, in the first round, Thuy Linh faced a big challenge. Initially, the draw for the women's singles put the Vietnamese player up against Tomoka Miyazaki (Japan) - the world's 11th ranked player. However, due to the withdrawal of the tournament's number 1 seed, Wang Zhiyi, the bracket was changed.

Miyazaki, who has moved from seed number 3 to seed number 2, will face Rakshitha Sree Santhosh Ramraj (India). Meanwhile, Thuy Linh will face India's number 1 player, Pusarla Sindhu. Thuy Linh's opponent is seeded number 5 in the tournament and is currently ranked 16th in the world.

Pusarla Sindhu has been in the top tennis players in the world many times. She owns a huge collection of titles. In the past, Thuy Linh and Pusarla Sindhu have met twice at the Singapore Open 2022 and Arctic Open 2023. In both times, the Indian tennis player won with a score of 2-1.

According to the schedule, the match between Nguyen Thuy Linh and Pusarla Sindhu will take place at 10:00 on January 22 (Vietnam time).
