On the afternoon of July 20, a working delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Ninh province led by Ms. Thai Hai Anh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Ninh province, visited, encouraged, and presented emergency support funds to the families of 3 victims in Pho Moi residential group, Tan Yen commune who died in a boat capsize in Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh province.
Previously, on the afternoon of July 19, a tourist boat capsized in the Green Bay 58 on Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh province).
Up to now (afternoon of July 20), the authorities have determined that 35 people have died and 4 people are missing. Among them, there was Mr. Luong Van Yen (born in 1985), from Pho Moi residential group, Tan Yen commune (Bac Ninh) and his two children.
Mr. Yen's family is living in Hanoi, on July 19, he and his wife and two children boarded the blue Bay 58 boat to visit Ha Long Bay.
When the train capsize occurred, Mr. Yen's wife escaped and was rescued by the authorities, while he and his two children died. In the early morning of July 20, the bodies of him and his two children were taken home by the authorities.
Visiting and encouraging the family, on behalf of the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Ms. Thai Hai Anh shared the great pain of loss with the victims' relatives. She hopes that the victims' relatives will soon overcome the pain to stabilize their lives.
Mr. Yen is the only son of Mrs. Luong Thi Hoa (born in 1950) in Moi residential group, Tan Yen commune. After graduating from the University of Mining and Geology in 2004, Mr. Yen lived and worked in Hanoi.
He started his own career and is currently the sales director of a real estate company. His wife is also the head of this company.
"He always told me: you have to work hard to raise your child, now you have a stable job, you will take care of your mother, I won't have to work any more. But I still occasionally buy scrap iron to exercise my body, improve my health, and earn more income, Ms. Hoa cried.
In her free time, Ms. Hoa often goes to Hanoi to visit Mr. Yen, Ms. Linh and their two children.
According to Ms. Hoa, Mr. Yen loves his wife and children very much. Every day, he took his children to school. Every week, he calls my mother to ask and tell her everything.
"The family of five still gathers together on weekends, but now it is just me and my daughter-in-law. It was extremely painful, Ms. Hoa choked up.
On this occasion, representative of the provincial leaders, Ms. Thai Hai Anh presented a support fund of 30 million VND from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to the family to organize a funeral for the unfortunate victims.
The leaders of the provincial Department of Home Affairs also presented 10 million VND in support to the two victims who were children from the provincial Children's Support Fund.
On the same day, Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen, President of the Bac Ninh Provincial Red Cross Society and the working delegation of the Provincial Red Cross Society visited, encouraged and presented 15 million VND in emergency support to the victims' families. The funding source is taken from the province's Humanitarian Fund.
