On July 20, implementing the direction of the leaders of Hanoi City, in order to promptly visit and encourage the families of the victims in the train capsize in Quang Ninh, the Department of Health coordinated with the Department of Finance to propose that the city submit to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the City People's Council to agree on policies and guidelines to support families of victims residing in Hanoi in the train capsize in Quang Ninh.
Accordingly, the joint department proposed a support level for each case of a deceased person of 30 million VND, including 25 million VND from the city budget and 5 million VND from the fund of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City.
The level of support for the injured is 8 million VND, including 5 million VND from the city budget, 3 million VND from the fund of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City.
Previously, at 12:55 on July 19, the Green Bay 58 ship departed to take visitors to visit Ha Long Bay on route 2. At 1:30 p.m., while near Dau Go cave, the ship was capsized by a storm, all tourists and crew members fell into the sea.
The authorities determined that on the Green Bay 58 ship there were 46 passengers, captain, and two crew members. The 10 survivors were taken to Quang Ninh General Hospital and Bai Chay Hospital. 35 bodies have been handed over to their families for funeral arrangements.
According to initial updated information from communes and wards in Hanoi, 17 citizens of Hanoi have been confirmed dead and 1 person injured in the train capsize.
On July 20, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh issued a telegram on support and visits to the family of the victim in the city in this train capsize.
The Chairman of Hanoi requested the Department of Health to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance and related units to urgently advise the City People's Committee on policies to support deceased victims and injured people. Units and localities have arranged the best medical conditions to treat the injured.
The Department of Home Affairs was assigned to preside over the implementation of supporting the conditions for organizing attendant funerals for the victims.
